Curus Invests in Wellon

2023/09/20

Investment firm Curus has completed an investment in the health startup Wellon. Wellon offers a service where consumers can be tested for the need for specific vitamins, minerals, and other supplements. After analysis, a customised supplement package is tailored and delivered to the customer every month in convenient dosage pouches.

There is a clear trend where an increasing number of people are seeking customised solutions for their supplements, especially in light of new supplements constantly launching in the market. For vitamins and supplements to truly be effective, they need to be tailored to an individual’s body and lifestyle. Wellon has addressed this by ensuring their nutritional recommendations are personalised and easy to follow, and by only using supplements from well-known and proven brands. Additionally, they have their own machinery for dose dispensing, further strengthening their market position.

“We are entering Wellon with great enthusiasm. It is evident that the area of supplements is garnering increased interest from the general public, and we look forward to being a part of this journey with Wellon,” says Erik Olsson Nyrén, Investment Manager at Curus.

In the USA, there are several major players similar to Wellon where many consumers are transitioning to customised solutions. Wellon aims to launch its service in Europe and become one of the major players in the sector.

Ylva Pagmén, CEO of Wellon, comments: “The company is going from strength to strength, and we see constant growth. Nearly 60% of the population regularly take supplements, but many are unsure if they really need them or feel the frustration of managing numerous containers and products. Our service addresses both these issues.”

Jacob Versteegh, CEO of Bonver Group, one of the major shareholders in Wellon, is also positive about Curus’s investment: “We are delighted that Curus has chosen to invest in Wellon. It underlines the potential and value we see in the company and its service.”
